[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Min Jun-young] Actress Hwang Seok-jeong confessed that there was a man she almost married.

On the 15th, SBS Plus' 'Do You Eat?' aired an episode featuring Hwang Seok-jeong, where she shared her life story.

During the broadcast, she opened up by saying, "The last man in my life almost married me but then disappeared."

She said, "We dated for about six months, but he suddenly went silent without any explanation. When we met again to talk, he said, 'I liked you because you were cool, but it turns out you're sensitive.' He was someone I really liked and even considered marrying."

She continued, "What helped me forget that was roses. Their scent was so good and they were beautiful. While looking at the roses, I got pricked by the thorns, but it felt so refreshing. That's how I became fascinated with roses and plants."

She revealed, "When I was in middle school, whenever I came home, there were debt collectors rather than family members. My mother always told me to say I wasn't home. I was scared of my mother, but I really hated lying." She added, "So resentment toward my mother built up. If I hadn't acted, I don't think I could have lived with my mother. Acting helped me understand other people's lives."

She went on, "The burden of having to protect my family made me anxious and breathless when I had no income. I tried to stay calm, but the pressure made it hard to breathe." She added, "Because of that, I kept running without rest. When performances were canceled, I had a break, and that led to various anxieties."

Additionally, she said, "My father was a member of the People's Army. He was at a prisoner-of-war camp on Geoje Island." She continued, "My father stayed in South Korea and was part of the Republic of Korea Army band. He participated in the Vietnam War, and during that time, my mother was raising their first daughter alone but passed away in an accident."
