On the 16th, the National Health Commission of China announced that as of midnight, 40 new confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported nationwide. Excluding 8 cases imported from overseas, 32 cases were domestically transmitted.
In Beijing, where the entire community is in a 'wartime state' fighting the risk of cluster infections, 27 new confirmed cases were added. Additional confirmed cases were reported in Hebei Province (4 cases) and Sichuan Province (1 case).
