Dongdaemun-gu 'Monttang Project' Operation... Recruiting Participating Clubs Last year, the cheerleading club "Miribyeol" of Haesung International Convention High School, which participated in the "Monttang Project," practicing cheerleading.


[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Yoo Deok-yeol) is operating the ‘Mongttang Project’ to discover and nurture creative talents.


The ‘Mongttang Project’ is part of the ‘2020 Dongdaemun Innovation Education District Project’ and supports youth-led club activities where teenagers plan and operate their own clubs without any restrictions on themes or fields, providing full support.


The district is recruiting 30 clubs and will support up to 1 million KRW per club.


Only clubs composed of at least five youths enrolled in local middle and high schools and one supervising teacher are eligible to apply for the project.


Clubs wishing to participate must submit an official document approved by their school principal to the Dongdaemun-gu Office Education Support Division by the 23rd of this month.


The district will conduct document screening within this month, and after review by a selection committee consisting of one internal member and four external members, the clubs to be supported and the amount of support will be finalized.


Additionally, the 30 selected youth clubs will have opportunities not only for their own club activities but also to participate in the Innovation Education Festival scheduled for the second half of the year, as well as network activities such as performance presentations, allowing them to interact and promote their clubs.
