[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Saeng-hye] SPC Samlip announced on the 15th that it has launched the home deli brand ‘YAAM!’ in collaboration with the e-commerce platform Coupang.


YAAM! is a brand name cleverly derived from the English exclamation ‘YUMMY’ (meaning very delicious), expressing the joy of eating tasty food. It is an online-exclusive brand that combines SPC Samlip’s product quality with Coupang’s convenience.


SPC Samlip developed convenient meal products under the ‘home deli’ concept in response to the growth of the online food delivery market and the spread of brunch culture, reflecting the westernization of eating habits. To expand online sales, the company partnered with Coupang and recently established an online strategy department to strengthen its online business.


The YAAM! brand products include 10 bakery items such as ‘Golden Pastry Bread,’ ‘Whole Barley Campagne,’ and ‘Ciabatta Sandwich,’ as well as 2 types of salads, porridge, and 5 types of soups, totaling 17 deli products. These are exclusively available through Coupang’s fresh food dawn and same-day delivery service, ‘Rocket Fresh.’


The product packaging features images emphasizing the sizzle effect to increase attention, and some products include recipes on the package exterior to allow consumers to use them in various ways.


An SPC Samlip official stated, “YAAM! will be developed as a home deli-style convenient meal brand differentiated from Korean-style HMR such as soups and stews, focusing on bakery, salads, and processed meat products. We will actively utilize online channels to expand the related market.”
