[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] LG Uplus is introducing safety education content that incorporates virtual reality (VR) technology into the intellectual property (IP) of the popular animation 'Choe Gang Jeonsa Mini Teuggongdae' to prepare for fires, earthquakes, and other emergencies.
On the 10th, LG Uplus announced that it will provide the safety education VR content 'Mini Teuggongdae Safety Experience VR,' conducted by Mini Teuggongdae, through the U+VR app.
Mini Teuggongdae Safety Experience VR was created using episodes from the original animation related to topics such as fire and earthquake. Users solve problems with the animation characters in virtual reality and complete a series of educational processes such as OX quizzes. In the future, content allowing users to take augmented reality (AR) photos with the main characters of Mini Teuggongdae?Bolt, Sammy, Lucy, and Max?will also be offered through the U+AR app.
The VR content company Stoic Entertainment developed VR educational content based on the 'Safe Living' textbook used in elementary school classes, covering topics such as ▲fire prevention and response ▲earthquake evacuation ▲the necessity and dangers of drugs ▲smoking cessation.
Mini Teuggongdae is a popular animation produced by Samji Animation. It ranked first in weekly viewership on the EBS Kids channel, won the Minister's Award in the animation category at the 2015 Korea Content Awards, and has been translated into 11 languages and exported to over 200 countries worldwide.
Choi Yoon-hwa, CEO of Stoic Entertainment, said, "We are pleased to provide virtual reality content for essential daily safety experiences to children using the globally beloved Mini Teuggongdae animation," adding, "We will first release five episodes on U+VR and produce an additional five episodes, offering a total of ten episodes."
