[Breaking] Songpa-gu Office Urges Suspension of School Attendance for Students Visiting Lotte World on the 5th

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Suwan] Jamsil Lotte World in Songpa-gu, Seoul, closed its operations on the 7th due to a visit by a confirmed case of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19). In response, the Songpa District Office issued an emergency disaster text message urging students who visited Lotte World between 12:15 PM and 9:00 PM on June 5 to refrain from attending school.

Additionally, visitors during that time are requested to undergo diagnostic testing at screening clinics.

We regret to inform you that a confirmed case (No. 21) from Jungnang-gu visited Lotte World in Songpa-gu today. To minimize local transmission, upon learning of the confirmed case’s visit, we immediately visited Lotte World to conduct an urgent inspection of the site with officials, including disinfection and epidemiological investigation.

Currently, the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, Seoul City, Songpa-gu, and Lotte World are closely coordinating and making every effort to respond appropriately. We ask all residents and visitors to Lotte World to refer to the following information and cooperate in preventing the spread of infectious diseases.

1. Those who visited Lotte World in Songpa-gu on June 5 (12:15 PM to 9:00 PM) are advised to receive diagnostic testing at the nearest screening clinic.

2. Students who visited Lotte World in Songpa-gu on June 5 (12:15 PM to 9:00 PM) are requested to refrain from attending school until their test results are confirmed.

Enhanced quarantine guidelines are being implemented mainly in the metropolitan area. Please refrain from attending events or dining gatherings with large groups until June 14, and avoid visiting crowded places such as karaoke rooms and entertainment facilities. Additionally, please adhere to daily quarantine guidelines such as wearing masks, washing hands, and maintaining a distance of at least 1 meter.
