[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Hyesoo] In the June afternoon broadcast of MBC's 'How Do You Play?', Yoo Jae-suk, Rain, and Lee Hyori decided on the name of their co-ed group as Ssaksseuri.
On that day, before forming the co-ed group, Yoo Jae-suk, Rain, and Lee Hyori met with Zico, Lee Kwang-soo, Code Kunst, and Swings to exchange ideas about music. Rain showcased dance skills reminiscent of his prime, dancing to Deux's music, while Lee Hyori sang 'Malhaejwo' with Swings, showing great chemistry.
Meanwhile, Yoo Jae-suk, Rain, and Lee Hyori continued their conversations separately. To Lee Hyori, who felt confused about her identity while traveling between Seoul and Jeju Island, Yoo Jae-suk said, "Think of it as a sub-character," and pointed out, "Actually, the Lee Hyori in Seoul is the real one, and the Lee Hyori in Jeju is the sub-character."
Yoo Jae-suk also mentioned 'Kkang,' which has recently regained popularity, asking Rain, "Did you plan this?" which embarrassed Rain. Lee Hyori said, "When a person has a prime, they should come down eventually, but why are you climbing up?" Yoo Jae-suk pressed, "Aren't you sorry to the younger generation?"
When Rain, saying it was a misunderstanding, couldn't respond immediately, Yoo Jae-suk asked for understanding, saying, "Hyori said she would go crazy because she has to prepare from 5 a.m. to come up to Seoul."
Then Lee Hyori mentioned Rain's recent finger dance, saying, "When I stopped you from doing the little dance, you started doing something strange." Rain explained, "These days, popping dancers do that," adding, "It's my freestyle." However, Lee Hyori and Yoo Jae-suk pointed out that for the group's activities, they should refrain from individual activities.
Especially Rain confessed, "Meeting once a week feels like the old days, and it excites me. Back then, when I met Hyori noona, I don't know about her, but I was excited every time I was on stage." Lee Hyori replied, "You should have made a move back then," which earned Yoo Jae-suk's reaction, "The talk is quite deep."
On that day, Yoo Jae-suk, Rain, and Lee Hyori also conducted a live broadcast with 100,000 viewers. The three asked for group name suggestions during the live broadcast, and among numerous names, 'Ssaksseuri (Ssak3)' was unanimously chosen.
They also decided on their stage names. Lee Hyori chose Linda G, Rain chose Biryong, and Yoo Jae-suk changed his sub-character name from UNESCO to Yudragon. Lee Hyori wanted to go with 'Jirinda,' but due to Yoo Jae-suk's opposition, they added a 'G' at the end and finalized it as Linda G.
Rain said about Lee Hyori's Linda G, "Nothing can beat 'Jirinda,'" and Yoo Jae-suk repeatedly admired, saying, "You really did this." When comments flooded the chat with alternative sub-character names for Rain and Yoo Jae-suk that could beat Jirinda, Yoo Jae-suk changed his initial UNESCO to Yudragon.
Finally, the preview of Lee Hyori and Rain competing for vocal and rap positions heightened curiosity for the next episode.
MBC's entertainment program 'How Do You Play?' airs every Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
