[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Suwan] On the 6th, the quarantine authorities announced that in addition to the Incheon academy instructor who gave false statements during the epidemiological investigation of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), one more confirmed case related to a pioneering church in the Seoul metropolitan area was identified.
Jung Eun-kyung, head of the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency's Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters (CDSCH), held a regular briefing at the KDCA in Osong, Chungbuk, in the afternoon and said, "Recent cases where individuals did not tell the truth during contact tracing include the Incheon Seum Academy instructor and one or two confirmed cases who visited the pioneering church, who reported different movement paths."
The confirmed patient who reported a false movement path among the pioneering church-related cases is Patient A (61), the 37th confirmed case in Anyang.
On the 3rd, Patient A falsely told epidemiological investigators that they had visited a restaurant in Manan-gu, Anyang, which was visited by the family of the 31st confirmed case in Anyang on the 29th of last month. The investigators also assumed Patient A was a contact of the 31st confirmed case in Anyang and announced the infection route accordingly.
However, it was revealed that Patient A was infected by attending a revival meeting at Bucheon Sanchukbok Church on the 27th of last month. According to Anyang City on the 5th, at least three people, including Patient A and two residents of Bupyeong-gu, Incheon, among the eight attendees of the revival meeting, were confirmed positive at that time.
