[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] Choi Seong-ho (35, stage name B-Free), who assaulted a fellow singer after receiving unpleasant comments on his social network service (SNS), has been handed over to the prosecution.

Seoul Yongsan Police Station announced on the 6th that Choi, who was booked on assault charges, was sent to the prosecution without detention with a recommendation for indictment.

Choi is accused of hitting fellow rapper A (26) in the face at a villa parking lot in Huam-dong, Yongsan-gu, around 10:20 p.m. on the 23rd of last month. Police who responded to the report arrested Choi at the scene as a suspect caught in the act.

Simple assault is a quasi-offense that cannot be criminally prosecuted unless the victim wishes to punish the offender, but A reportedly expressed to the police his intention to press charges against Choi.

A posted a photo of his assaulted face on his SNS along with the message, "He was a respected artist, but no longer," and "I hope he pays the rightful price."

Choi and A are rappers who gained recognition by appearing on the audition program "Show Me the Money."
