Jungnang-gu Selected for Seoul Lifelong Education Consulting Support Project

Selected for the 2020 'Seoul Lifelong Education Consulting Support Project' Hosted by Seoul Lifelong Education Promotion Institute... A Stepping Stone for Jumping to Jungnang as a Full-Fledged Lifelong Learning City

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) has been selected for the 2020 'Seoul Lifelong Education Consulting Support Project' organized by the Seoul Metropolitan Lifelong Education Promotion Institute.

This public contest, conducted by the Seoul Metropolitan Lifelong Education Promotion Foundation to strengthen the capacity for lifelong education projects, was held targeting 25 autonomous districts.

The evaluation criteria consisted of three items: ▲consulting purpose ▲consulting implementation method ▲utilization of consulting results, conducted in two stages: first a written evaluation, then a face-to-face evaluation. Jungnang-gu achieved excellent results in each criterion, earning the honor of selection.

As a result of being selected in this contest, Jungnang-gu will receive approximately 10 million KRW in project funding.

Moreover, from June to November, lifelong learning experts will provide systematic and professional consulting for rebuilding the learning resource network, including ▲a full survey of learning resources within Jungnang-gu ▲a demand survey and specialization analysis of related lifelong education institutions ▲exploring 1:1 mapping methods between learning providers and learners.

Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi of Jungnang-gu stated, "This selection in the contest is a great achievement made possible by the strong network with related institutions and the collaboration between the public and private sectors through expert consulting," adding, "This consulting support project selection will further advance lifelong education in Jungnang-gu."

Since being selected as a lifelong learning city last year, Jungnang-gu has achieved various accomplishments in the lifelong learning field, including being selected for two consecutive years in the Seoul city-led 2020 Neighborhood Learning Center Operation Contest, which brings learning closer to residents.
