According to Yeosu City on the 5th, 12 members of the 2020 Yeosu Night Sea Fireworks Festival Promotion Committee held a meeting on the 4th at the Yeosu City Hall Situation Room to appoint committee members and organize executives.

On that day, Committee Member Lee Moon-bong (Co-Representative of Yeosu City Participation Solidarity) was elected as this year's Promotion Committee Chairman, and vice-chairman, auditor, secretary-general, and subcommittees were formed.

The Yeosu Night Sea Fireworks Festival, now in its 5th year, is scheduled to be held in early September. Most festivals in the first half of the year were canceled due to the spread of COVID-19, and recently, as the increase in COVID-19 cases in the metropolitan area has not subsided, the timing of the event is expected to be somewhat flexible.

The Promotion Committee plans to establish a festival that firmly secures the new trend of Yeosu quarantine while promoting tourism and revitalizing the local economy through this fireworks festival.

Promotion Committee Chairman Lee Moon-bong said, “Although we are experiencing internal and external difficulties in this unprecedented situation of COVID-19, when we wisely overcome this crisis, we can advance one step further,” expressing his determination that the fireworks festival must play a central role.

A Yeosu City official said, “We will make greater efforts to provide administrative support so that there are no inconveniences in operating the Promotion Committee,” and added, “Please gather the capabilities and wisdom of the committee members so that the fireworks festival can develop into a safe and successful event.”
