This education was conducted to alleviate residents' anxiety and establish a rapid response system in relation to the recent consecutive earthquakes in the Haenam area.
In particular, the results of the analysis of the Haenam earthquake occurrence from the 'Earthquake Experts Meeting' held by the Korea Meteorological Administration on the 1st were shared, and opinions were exchanged on the earthquake notification system structure and earthquake disaster response methods for safe earthquake disaster management.
In the Haenam area, five earthquakes of magnitude 2.0 or higher occurred consecutively since April 26, and including earthquakes below magnitude 2.0, a total of 75 earthquakes occurred until the 23rd of last month, but none have occurred since then until now.
A Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration official said, "Through this education, the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration and public officials in charge of disaster prevention in the Gwangju and Jeonnam areas proactively performed earthquake disaster prevention tasks, and it became a time of sharing to create a safe region through cooperation."
