[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Geon-ju] The Jeonbuk Regional Environmental Office announced on the 5th that it conducted environmental cleanup activities at the Gochang Incheon River Estuary Wetland Protection Area to commemorate the 25th 'Environment Day.'
The Gochang Incheon River Estuary Wetland is a well-preserved natural estuary on the west coast, rich in biodiversity including endangered species.
This area is recognized as the country's first wetland ecological corridor connecting the tidal flat coast, the Incheon River estuary, and the terrestrial ecosystem of Ungok Wetland, serving as a model for pristine wetlands.
Director Jeong Bok-cheol stated, "Small actions for the environment in daily life will be the first step to overcoming the environmental crisis," and added, "I hope that Environment Day will serve as an opportunity to promote eco-friendly living, such as reducing the use of disposable products."
