[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Seul-gi] Big Bang's Taeyang revealed the reason he decided to marry his wife Min Hyo-rin.
On the 4th, Taeyang's official YouTube channel released episode 6, "Crystal clear," of his documentary "白夜 | WHITE NIGHT [The Night Taeyang Does Not Set]."
In 2017, Taeyang said during a meeting with acquaintances, "For a man, meeting a good person, getting married, and building a family is ultimately good for me. It's good for a man," adding, "Because the achievements I accomplish alone and the ones I accomplish when I take responsibility for something are worlds apart. It gives you abilities beyond imagination."
When asked by an acquaintance about his marriage to Min Hyo-rin, Taeyang said, "I really meet (Min Hyo-rin) with that kind of mindset. We have talked a lot from the beginning," and added, "For both me and my girlfriend, meeting for almost four years without the premise of marriage is meaningless, isn't it?"
He then expressed his affection for Min Hyo-rin, saying, "Decisively, if I hadn't met this person, I don't think I would have thought about marriage. She's that good."
Afterward, Taeyang made a surprise announcement to close friends about his upcoming marriage to Min Hyo-rin.
Regarding Taeyang's marriage news, his friends said, "When we first heard the news, we were really surprised. Getting married at that age, and being a singer at the top of the current industry, we didn't think he would consider marriage before even completing his military service."
Taeyang said, "I used to really dislike change, but after meeting Min Hyo-rin, I experienced many changes, and those changes refined me and made me a better person," adding, "Even now, she is the one who continues to change me."
He continued, "I also want to be that kind of person to her, and that is the reason I thought, 'I want to be with this person,' and 'I want to get married.'"
Meanwhile, Taeyang and Min Hyo-rin got married in February 2018.
