[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] Sono Hotels & Resorts donated resort accommodation vouchers and water park tickets to medical staff and related personnel in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions who are working hard to treat COVID-19.
According to Sono Hotels & Resorts on the 5th, this donation was prepared to express gratitude for the dedication and efforts of medical personnel and facility staff fighting COVID-19 in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk areas.
The donation targets approximately 4,000 people, including doctors, nurses, clinical pathologists, and public health officials involved in support tasks in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions. Sono Hotels & Resorts allowed medical staff, who are sweating day and night wearing thick protective suits at infectious disease specialized hospitals, residential treatment centers, and screening clinics, to use the 'Sonobel Cheongsong' and 'Sonobel Gyeongju' resorts located in the Gyeongbuk area. Sonobel Cheongsong provided tickets for Solsaem Hot Springs along with the rooms, and Sonobel Gyeongju additionally offered tickets for the Oceanplay Water Park.
A representative of Sono Hotels & Resorts said, "We hope that our small token of appreciation reaches the medical staff and related personnel fighting on the front lines of COVID-19 to protect the lives of the people."
Earlier, when COVID-19 cases increased in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions at the end of February, Sono Hotels & Resorts provided Sonobel Cheongsong as a residential treatment center for 28 days from March 12 to April 8 at the request of quarantine authorities to help overcome the damage.
