[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Seul-gi] Singer Jeon So-mi's father Matthew and younger sister Evelyn visited Busan and had a meaningful time.
On the afternoon of the 4th, MBC Every1's "Welcome, First Time in Korea?" (Welcome) aired a scene showing Matthew and Evelyn traveling together.
On the broadcast that day, Matthew said, "When I told So-mi I was going on 'Welcome,' she told me not to make mistakes and to do well."
Jeon So-mi's younger sister Evelyn revealed, "It's been 10 years since I came to Korea, and I like drawing, exercising, and nature."
Matthew explained the reason for the trip, saying, "Raising the first child took a lot of energy, but as I got older, I wanted to give to the second what I couldn't give to the first. I felt like I couldn't do much for Evelyn, so I wanted to spend special time with her."
Visiting Won-gaksa Temple in Busan that day, Matthew said, "I'm not Korean, but I have pride. I hope Korean Buddhist culture becomes more known."
Evelyn also expressed her affection for Won-gaksa, saying, "This is my fourth visit. It's a place I want to keep coming back to."
When Evelyn shed tears while practicing 'Bulmudo' with friends her age, Matthew comforted her, saying, "You wanted to do well, but your body didn't follow, so you must have felt frustrated and unfair."
Matthew said, "What So-mi does is something where one mistake can cost everything. So I feel sorry for not paying much attention to Evelyn," adding, "I made mistakes as a father. It doesn't matter what you do. I just hope you overcome things more strongly and bravely."
