UAE Emirates Airlines to Resume Dubai-Incheon Route from the 15th

[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] Emirates Airlines, the largest airline in the Middle East based in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), announced on the 4th that it will resume 16 international routes, including Dubai-Incheon, starting from the 15th of this month (local time).

Along with the Dubai-Incheon route, flights to Manama, Manchester, Zurich, Vienna, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Dublin, Singapore, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, New York, Taipei, Jakarta, Perth, and Brisbane will resume after a 12-week suspension.

The airline also plans to restart three routes connecting Dubai with Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad in Pakistan from the 8th. Earlier, on the 21st of last month, it resumed nine routes including London, Paris, Milan, Madrid, Chicago, and Sydney.

The UAE government plans to soon allow transit and transfers at three international airports: Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah, in line with the resumption of international flights. On the 3rd (local time), the UAE government announced, "With the allowance of transit and transfers at domestic international airports, international flights operated by UAE airlines such as Emirates Airlines, Etihad Airways, flydubai, and Air Arabia will gradually resume."

Due to the spread of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the UAE government completely suspended international flights and closed airports on March 25. Since then, airport use has only been permitted for special flights allowing foreigners residing in the UAE to return home or holders of UAE residence visas abroad to enter the country.
