A 50-Year-Old Church Member and Daughter Who Contacted a Pioneer Church Pastor Confirmed with COVID-19

Dinner with pioneer church pastor and others on the 29th of last month
Contact with other confirmed cases at a church service in Seogu district

[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] A man in his 50s and his daughter, who came into contact with a pastor infected with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) at an Incheon pioneering church gathering, have consecutively tested positive.


On the 4th, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon City announced that Mr. A (55 years old) and his 21-year-old daughter, living in Seonhak-dong, tested positive for COVID-19.


Mr. A had a meal on the 29th of last month with Pastor C (71, female) of a church in Michuhol-gu, who was infected with COVID-19, along with one other person. It was confirmed that Mr. A attended a worship service at a church in Seo-gu on the 31st of last month, where he came into contact with two other confirmed cases related to the Incheon pioneering church.


Mr. A tested positive after a specimen test at the Michuhol-gu Public Health Center screening clinic the previous day and was transferred to Incheon Medical Center. Ms. B, his daughter, was classified as a contact after her mother tested positive and also tested positive following a specimen test on the same day.


Health authorities are conducting epidemiological investigations to identify contacts and movement paths of Mr. A and Ms. B, while carrying out disinfection in the residential area. The total number of confirmed cases related to the pioneering church in Incheon is 40, and the cumulative number of confirmed cases in Incheon is 260.
