President Moon's approval rating at 58.9%... Declines for 2 consecutive weeks [Realmeter]

[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] President Moon Jae-in's approval rating for his administration fell below 60% for the second consecutive week.

According to Realmeter's survey commissioned by tbs conducted from the 1st to the 3rd, the positive evaluation of President Moon's administration dropped by 1.0 percentage point from the previous week's aggregate to 58.9%, the agency announced on the 4th. Negative evaluations rose by 0.2 percentage points to 35.5%. The gap between positive and negative evaluations was 23.4 percentage points, which is outside the margin of error.

By ideological inclination, the positive evaluation among moderates fell by 3.2 percentage points to 55.1%. By party support, the non-affiliated group showed a significant drop of 4.8 percentage points to 33.6%. By age group, the 20s saw a sharp decline (59.7% → 48.5%), while those aged 70 and above increased (52.5% → 59.0%).

Regionally, Daegu-Gyeongbuk (49.4% → 44.5%) and Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam (54.2% → 49.7%) showed a downward trend. In contrast, Gwangju-Jeolla (75.9% → 82.2%) saw a significant rise.

Party support ratings showed the Democratic Party of Korea rising by 0.7 percentage points to 42.8%, and the United Future Party increasing by 1.2 percentage points to 27.5%.

The Open Democratic Party fell by 0.5 percentage points to 5.1%, and the People's Party dropped by 0.2 percentage points to 3.8%. Following were the Justice Party at 3.0% and the Minsheng Party at 1.4%.

This survey contacted 32,368 voters aged 18 and over nationwide, with a final response of 1,510 people, recording a response rate of 4.7%. The sampling error is ±2.5 percentage points at a 95% confidence level. For more details, refer to the Central Election Survey Deliberation Commission website.
