Ultra presumed model name 'SM-N986U' appears on Bluetooth certification site
Top model expected to feature 100MP camera with 50x zoom support
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] A model presumed to be the Galaxy Note20 Ultra has been spotted. While it is widely expected that two models will be released, there is also speculation that the brand name might change from the Galaxy Note20 Plus model to the Ultra model.
On the 3rd (local time), according to IT specialized media XDA Developers and others, a device with the model name 'SM-N986U' was spotted in the new list from Bluetooth SIG, which indicates Bluetooth certified devices. The 'U' in the model name of the Galaxy Note20 suggests Ultra, so it is presumed to be the Ultra model. IT specialist Twitter user Max Weinbach said, "The name will change from Galaxy Note20+ to Galaxy Note20 Ultra."
A product name presumed to be the Galaxy Note20 Ultra model has been spotted on the Bluetooth certification device site.
Samsung Electronics recently received 3C certification, China's quality safety certification system, and the product presumed to be the Galaxy Note20 Plus has the model name SM-N9860. The product spotted on Geekbench last April had the model name SM-N986U. If two models are released, it is highly likely that the higher-end model's brand name will be 'Ultra' instead of Plus.
The higher-end Galaxy Note20 model is expected to be equipped with the same 108-megapixel main camera as the Galaxy S20 Ultra, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera, a 48-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 13-megapixel telephoto camera. However, the 'Space Zoom' that supported 100x zoom is likely to be replaced with support for 50x zoom. The Ultra model is expected to be released with a 6.9-inch size, supporting a 120Hz display refresh rate and WQHD+ resolution.
Summarizing the specifications mentioned so far for the Galaxy Note20, it is expected to be equipped with either the Snapdragon 865 or Exynos 992 chipset, with RAM options of 12GB and 16GB. The battery capacity is 4500mAh, supporting 45W fast charging, and it is expected to support the S Pen with a significantly improved sensor.
IT specialized media GSM Arena explained, "Previous reports said only the Galaxy Note20+ model would be released and the Ultra would not be launched, but Samsung may have decided to change the name from the Plus model to Ultra," adding, "The model name for the Galaxy S20+ was G980, and the Ultra model was G988. Bluetooth SIG may have uploaded the wrong name."
