[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] The "Dream and Hope Volunteer Group," composed of employees of Grand Korea Leisure (GKL), donated COVID-19 prevention supplies to vulnerable groups affected by disasters both domestically and abroad.

On the 4th, GKL announced that it had delivered 200 "COVID-19 Prevention Sharing Boxes" to the nonprofit organization Warming Korea. The COVID-19 Prevention Sharing Boxes, part of non-face-to-face volunteer work, consisted of soap, hand sanitizer, cotton masks, and disposable filters. The soap and masks were made directly by 200 GKL employees.

Lee Yoon-ah, assistant manager at GKL who participated in the volunteer activity, said, "I am glad to be able to help neighbors in need even a little," adding, "Making soap and masks with my child and sharing stories about giving made it a meaningful educational experience."

Since 2013, GKL labor and management have annually delivered Hope Rice, jointly raised by both parties, to elderly living alone, grandparent-headed families, and local children's centers instead of holding commemorative events on the union's founding day. Last year, 2,193 blood donation certificates donated by GKL employees were delivered to the Korea Leukemia Children's Foundation and the Korea Leukemia Pediatric Foundation.
