According to Sinan County on the 4th, the Mokpo Branch of the Gwangju District Prosecutors' Office carried out a search and seizure at three locations within the Sinan County Office building, including the county mayor's office, the planning office, and the administrative support division, around 9:30 a.m. that day.
About ten investigators reportedly secured personnel-related documents, including computer data related to temporary employment, from the respective offices.
Since the launch of the 7th civilian administration, Sinan County has faced controversy after hiring about ten retired public officials in business departments such as county branch offices, and it is reported that a whistleblower letter related to this was submitted to the prosecution.
The prosecution is also reportedly reviewing projects commissioned by the county.
A Sinan County official stated, "I understand the search and seizure was conducted on charges of obstruction of rights," adding, "We need to further ascertain the situation."
