Naver Cloud Acquires New International Certification for Finance-Dedicated SOC

[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-gyu Lee] Naver announced on the 4th that Naver Business Platform (NBP)'s cloud service has become the first in the industry to obtain the SOC1 and SOC2 certifications exclusively for the financial sector.

SOC certification is an international certification system issued only when service provision and operational procedures are audited and fully meet the 'Trust Services Criteria' established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA). Once issued, the certification must undergo a renewal audit at least once a year to be maintained. Naver also renewed its existing international SOC1, SOC2, and SOC3 certifications.

NBP confirmed that it has a systematic consultation and support process to satisfy the security requirements necessary for financial and fintech companies to comply with electronic financial supervision regulations when using cloud services. An NBP representative stated, "Naver Cloud Platform has acquired significantly more information security certifications compared to other domestic and international cloud service providers and maintains these certifications through annual renewals," adding, "We are actively investing in security to provide a safe cloud environment."
