This agreement was signed based on the consensus that academic achievements must precede for the sustainable development of the accounting industry, aiming to activate accounting research and nurture experts through industry-academia cooperation.
Deloitte Anjin and the Korean Accounting Association plan to cooperate in establishing a global accounting research system based on joint research utilizing a shared global accounting data research database.
In this agreement, the two organizations decided to establish the "Deloitte Academic Award," which will review research papers using global accounting data research data and select up to three outstanding papers annually for awards. Deloitte Anjin expects this mutual cooperation with the Korean Accounting Association to serve as a momentum for positive changes where industry and academia can coexist and develop together.
Jung Seokwoo, President of the Korean Accounting Association, stated, "The accounting industry, called the guardian of capitalism, is an industry that must be supported by transparency and reliability more than any other industry, and organic industry-academia cooperation is essential for sustainable development," adding, "We expect the sharing of knowledge and know-how between the two organizations to contribute to the development of Korea's accounting industry and the activation of accounting research."
Hong Jongseong, CEO of Deloitte Anjin, emphasized, "As one of the leading firms in the accounting industry, Deloitte Anjin believes it has the duty and responsibility to continuously develop the accounting industry," and added, "We will work together to evolve the accounting industry ecosystem positively through close industry-academia cooperation."
