[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] The Janggeum-i's Pork Stew restaurant in Seosan Haemi Eupseong from 'Golmok Sikdang' has lost its original spirit.
On the 3rd, the first story of the urgent inspection of the Seosan Haemi Eupseong alley aired on SBS entertainment program 'Baek Jong-won's Golmok Sikdang'.
On that day, the stores to be inspected in Seosan Haemi Eupseong were a gopchang restaurant, a pork stew restaurant, a bulgogi restaurant, and a hotteok shop. The production team said, "Two stores are doing well, and two stores are not."
In response, Baek Jong-won said, "I really can't read people well. I can see the store well, but not the person," but added, "Still, cautiously. First of all, Janggeum-i's place (pork stew restaurant) originally had skill, so it can't be shaken," expressing trust in Janggeum-i's.
MCs Kim Sung-joo and Jung In-sun also trusted Janggeum-i's. On the contrary, they pointed to the gopchang restaurant, where the owner had a strong personality, as the store that might not be doing well.
However, the social network service (SNS) reviews showed the opposite. The gopchang restaurant received favorable reviews, but Janggeum-i's received only harsh criticism. Baek Jong-won, Kim Sung-joo, and Jung In-sun were surprised by customer reviews such as "It tastes bad," "It's a waste of money," and "It smells."
Then, the production team split into three groups and visited the pork stew restaurant disguised as customers. The pork stew and bibimbap they tasted were served quickly after ordering, but the taste and condition matched the harsh SNS reviews. The side dishes were reduced from six to four, and the young salted oysters, which Baek Jong-won had highly praised, were missing. When asked for the young salted oysters, they were given, but the taste was so fishy that it was inedible.
The production team said, "The meat smells too strong," and "I can't swallow this? The fat tastes overwhelming," spitting out the meat.
They continued, "The broth is bland and spicy. It tastes more like kimchi soup than stew," giving a harsh review.
Kim Sung-joo wondered, "This person's skills aren't at that level? Did something happen? Did the taste get worse because many people came after the broadcast?" Baek Jong-won expressed disappointment, saying, "The broadcast became poison. The food was good when there were no customers."
Baek Jong-won said, "Did you see the owner's expression just now? Why did their facial expression change like that? They have no feelings about the customers at all," and added, "Did they get burned by customers? If so, they shouldn't be running the business."
MCs Kim Sung-joo and Jung In-sun also worried, saying, "They seem like a completely different person."
