It is the Untact Era... Gwanak-gu 'Video Conference' Fully Launched

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Junhee) held the daily situation briefing of the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters, which is held every morning, as a video conference on the 3rd.

This is intended to create a new meeting culture in accordance with government guidelines to use non-face-to-face methods such as video, telephone, and written reports for internal and external meetings and reports to implement ‘social distancing in daily life.’

The video conferencing system operated by the district is the ‘On Nara Eum PC Video Conferencing System’ distributed by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, which allows efficient work utilization without the cost of building a separate network.

The district plans to use the ‘On Nara Eum PC Video Conferencing System’ to conduct the daily situation briefing of the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters every morning, ▲various emergency meetings ▲executive meetings ▲interdepartmental work consultations ▲urgent work communications between the district and neighborhoods.

A district official said, “Any employee can freely hold and participate in various meetings and training using their personal work PC regardless of time and place. Accordingly, unnecessary administrative efforts such as time and cost required to attend face-to-face meetings will be greatly reduced, and work efficiency is expected to improve.”

In addition, the district plans to actively encourage the use of the PC video conferencing system at 21 neighborhood community centers to replace meetings previously held face-to-face, such as neighborhood chief meetings, with video conferences, and to widely utilize video conferencing during meetings of various functional organizations such as the community leaders’ council and residents’ autonomy committee.

Mayor Park Junhee stated, “Although the video conferencing culture is still unfamiliar, it is expected to play a significant role in eliminating departmental work barriers and strengthening communication,” and added, “We will do our best to create a safe and efficient working environment for employees by introducing smart work methods in line with the post-COVID-19 era.”
