[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kang Juhee] KBS has expressed its commitment to doing its best to prevent recurrence in relation to the discovery of a hidden camera in the women's restroom of its headquarters building.

On the 3rd, KBS stated in an official position, "KBS takes the discovery of an illegal filming device in the research building very seriously and is preparing and implementing measures to prevent recurrence and protect victims."

It added, "Furthermore, even if the suspect in this case is not a KBS employee, we feel a great sense of responsibility regarding the recent reports mentioning one of the cast members."

KBS said, "KBS is well aware that in such cases, alongside the arrest and punishment of the perpetrator, special protection for the victims is crucial," and "We deeply regret this incident and once again promise to do our utmost to prevent recurrence and secondary damage."

Earlier, on the 29th of last month, the incident became known after a report was received that an illegal filming device shaped like a portable power bank was found in the women's restroom inside the KBS research building.

Subsequently, a media outlet reported on the 2nd that the suspect in the case was a male KBS employee, but KBS officially stated, "After confirming the facts with the police regarding whether the suspect was an employee, we received a response that he is not an employee."

Since then, controversy has continued, including the mention of the name of Mr. Park, a KBS public recruitment 32nd batch comedian, as a suspect.
