Government and academia come together for the development of Jungnang as an education city.
Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi) will hold the Jungnang Education Development Advisory Meeting for educational advancement on the 5th with 23 elementary school principals.
This advisory meeting is the second, following the meeting held on May 29th attended by 24 middle and high school principals.
The meeting, focusing on presenting policy ideas for educational development, efficient operation plans for educational expense subsidies, operation of the Bang Jeong-hwan Education Support Center, and building educational development governance, will be held in the Planning Situation Room on the 4th floor of the district office from 10:30 AM for about 90 minutes.
The district prepared this meeting to strengthen the government-academia cooperation network and to establish a support system suitable for the needs of the field and residents as educational expenses increase annually, thereby enhancing educational competitiveness.
Jungnang-gu's educational expenses currently amount to 6 billion KRW, which is an increase of 2.2 billion KRW compared to 3.8 billion KRW in 2018.
The district aims to expand this to 8 billion KRW by 2022.
Ryu Gyeong-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, stated, "Despite the unprecedented crisis of COVID-19, thanks to the calm response of the school field, the school openings are proceeding sequentially," and added, "We will do our best to improve the educational environment and strengthen educational competitiveness."
