Five Agency Heads Gather in One Place to Pledge Success in Innovation Activities

Gwangyang-si, 2020 Win-Win Growth Innovation Hub Agreement Signed


[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] The Gwangyang Win-Win Growth Innovation Hub Promotion Committee (Gwangyang Mayor, POSCO Gwangyang Steelworks Director, Gwangyang Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman) announced that on June 3rd at 2 PM, the ‘2020 Win-Win Growth Innovation Hub Agreement Signing Ceremony’ was held at City Hall.


The event was attended by Jeong Hyun-bok, Gwangyang Mayor and co-chairman of the Gwangyang Win-Win Growth Innovation Hub, Lee Si-woo, Director of POSCO Gwangyang Steelworks, and Lee Baek-gu, Chairman of the Gwangyang Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as new participants this year including Cha Min-sik, President of Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority, and Kang Jeong-il, Director of the Gwangyang Bay Area HRD Center.


This year, a total of 18 entities are participating, including 6 small and medium-sized enterprises such as Biz Steel, Daepung, N2B, and Seohee Construction, 10 newly participating companies and workplaces such as Gwangyang Dosirak and Changdeok·Gwangyang Daycare Center, and 8 existing institutions. A performance sharing meeting is planned to be held in December.


Gwangyang Mayor Jeong Hyun-bok said, “Since the start of the Win-Win Growth Innovation Hub activities in 2011, the excellent innovation cases of POSCO Gwangyang Steelworks have been applied to various fields such as local small and medium-sized enterprises, public institutions, and schools, contributing to enhancing the competitiveness of participating workplaces and the city.” He added, “At this point marking the 10th anniversary of the Win-Win Growth Innovation Hub activities, we will do our best to further expand win-win growth activities to create small but strong SMEs, corporate citizen POSCO, and the global premium city of Gwangyang.”


Meanwhile, the Win-Win Growth Innovation Hub activities are a collaboration among five institutions: Gwangyang City, POSCO Gwangyang Steelworks, Gwangyang Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority, and Gwangyang Bay Area HRD Center. They provide consulting to improve management efficiency of SMEs, profitability of small business owners, and administrative (public) institutions’ work efficiency.


Since 2011, a total of 184 entities have participated in innovation activities, achieving outstanding results such as strengthened competitiveness and increased work efficiency, and are recognized as a successful case of the win-win growth model.
