It was confirmed on the 3rd that North Korea changed the name of the 'Inminboanseong,' which corresponds to South Korea's National Police Agency, to 'Sahoe Anjeonseong' (Ministry of Social Security).
North Korea's Korean Central Broadcasting reported the day before about support for the construction site of Pyongyang General Hospital, mentioning for the first time that "the Ministry of Social Security has made significant progress in the support project."
North Korean media referred to the name Inminboanseong until the 24th of last month, but have not used the name since then.
This organizational name change appears to be the result of the expanded 4th meeting of the 7th Central Military Commission of the Party, reported on the same day last month.
At that expanded meeting, North Korea stated, "The Supreme Leader (Kim Jong-un) personally signed seven orders, including an order to reorganize the military command system according to the mission and duties of the security agencies."
It has not been confirmed whether the functions and roles have changed along with the organizational name change.
