Completely Changed 'Audi Aura'... Launch of 'The New Audi A4·A5'

[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Audi announced on the 3rd that it will launch the premium compact sedan ‘The New Audi A4’ and ‘The New Audi A5,’ which combines design, convenience, and practicality, in the Korean market. Depending on the engine lineup and vehicle concept, ‘The New Audi A4’ will be offered in four models, and ‘The New Audi A5’ will be launched in four models including Sportback, Coupe, and Cabriolet, expanding customers' choices.

The New Audi A4

The newly released ‘The New Audi A4’ is the 5th generation facelift model, offering a total of four models: ‘The New Audi A4 40 TFSI,’ ‘The New Audi A4 40 TFSI Premium,’ ‘The New Audi A4 35 TDI Premium,’ and ‘The New Audi A4 40 TDI Quattro Premium.’

‘The New Audi A4’ features two types of TFSI gasoline engine models and two types of TDI diesel engine models. ‘The New Audi A4 40 TFSI’ and ‘The New Audi A4 40 TFSI Premium’ are equipped with an inline 4-cylinder gasoline direct injection turbocharged (TFSI) engine and a 7-speed S tronic automatic transmission, delivering a maximum output of 190 horsepower and a peak torque of 32.6 kg.m. The ‘The New Audi A4 35 TDI Premium’ and ‘The New Audi A4 40 TDI Quattro Premium,’ equipped with an inline 4-cylinder diesel direct injection turbocharged (TDI) engine and a 7-speed S tronic automatic transmission, produce maximum outputs of 163 horsepower and 190 horsepower, and maximum torques of 38.7 kg.m and 40.8 kg.m, respectively.

The top speed of ‘The New Audi A4 40 TFSI’ and ‘The New Audi A4 40 TFSI Premium’ is 210 km/h, while ‘The New Audi A4 35 TDI Premium’ and ‘The New Audi A4 40 TDI Quattro Premium’ reach top speeds of 228 km/h and 235 km/h, respectively. The time to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h is 8.2 seconds for ‘The New Audi A4 35 TDI Premium,’ and 7.4 seconds for the other three models. The combined fuel efficiency for the two gasoline models is 12.2 km/l, while ‘The New Audi A4 35 TDI Premium’ and ‘The New Audi A4 40 TDI Quattro Premium’ boast excellent fuel efficiency of 15.9 km/l and 13.8 km/l, respectively, based on combined standards.

‘The New Audi A4’ actively reflects the latest Audi design, boasting a sleeker and more dynamic exterior. The interior design includes ambient lighting (multi-color), door entry lights, front power and memory seats, 4-way lumbar support, and rear folding seats as standard features.

‘The New Audi A4’ is equipped with various cutting-edge safety and convenience systems that embody Audi’s innovative technology. Parking assist system, Pre Sense City, Pre Sense Front, and Side Assist are standard, helping ensure safe driving.

The New Audi A5

The second-generation facelift model of the ‘Audi A5,’ which combines the dynamism of a coupe, the practicality of an Avant, and the comfort of a sedan, ‘The New Audi A5,’ is also newly introduced with a diverse lineup featuring new design elements including Sportback, Coupe, and Cabriolet.

‘The New Audi A5’ is offered with three gasoline engine models and one diesel engine model, available in Sportback, Coupe, and Cabriolet depending on the concept. The newly launched ‘The New Audi A5 Sportback 40 TDI Quattro Premium’ is equipped with an inline 4-cylinder diesel direct injection turbocharged (TDI) engine producing a maximum output of 190 horsepower. The ‘The New Audi A5 Sportback 45 TFSI Quattro Premium,’ ‘The New Audi A5 Coupe 45 TFSI Quattro Premium,’ and ‘The New Audi A5 Cabriolet 45 TFSI Quattro Premium’ are equipped with an inline 4-cylinder gasoline direct injection turbocharged (TFSI) engine producing a maximum output of 252 horsepower. All models of ‘The New Audi A5’ come with a 7-speed S tronic automatic transmission. The ‘The New Audi A5 Sportback 40 TDI Quattro Premium’ delivers a maximum torque of 40.8 kg.m and a top speed of 235 km/h. The ‘The New Audi A5 Sportback 45 TFSI Quattro Premium,’ ‘The New Audi A5 Coupe 45 TFSI Quattro Premium,’ and ‘The New Audi A5 Cabriolet 45 TFSI Quattro Premium’ produce a maximum torque of 37.7 kg.m and a top speed of 210 km/h.

The acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 7.6 seconds for ‘The New Audi A5 Sportback 40 TDI Quattro Premium,’ 6.0 seconds for ‘The New Audi A5 Sportback 45 TFSI Quattro Premium,’ 5.9 seconds for ‘The New Audi A5 Coupe 45 TFSI Quattro Premium,’ and 6.3 seconds for ‘The New Audi A5 Cabriolet 45 TFSI Quattro Premium.’

All models of ‘The New Audi A5’ feature the S line exterior package applied to the single-frame grille with honeycomb design, radiator grille, side air intakes, side skirts, diffuser, and chrome tailpipes, emphasizing sportiness. Additionally, piano black inlays are applied, and ambient lighting (multi-color) and door entry lights are standard, creating a more sophisticated interior atmosphere.

Convenience features include parking assist system and rearview camera on all models, with Active Lane Assist, Pre Sense City, Pre Sense Front, and Side Assist also standard.

The price of ‘The New Audi A4 40 TFSI’ is 47,520,000 KRW, ‘The New Audi A4 40 TFSI Premium’ is 52,520,000 KRW, ‘The New Audi A4 35 TDI Premium’ is 54,520,000 KRW, and ‘The New Audi A4 40 TDI Quattro Premium’ is 58,020,000 KRW. (Including VAT, based on reduced individual consumption tax)
