[Asia Economy Reporter Onyu Lim] Seoul Housing and Communities Corporation (SH Corporation) announced on the 3rd that it has switched the 'Urban Regeneration Life Skills School' coordinator expert training to online YouTube live streaming to prevent the resurgence of COVID-19.
The Urban Regeneration Life Skills School is a citizen lecture program created by SH Corporation in collaboration with specialized institutions to establish an ecosystem for quality job creation linked to local human resources. Expert training courses such as home repair coordination, remodeling coordination, and housing service coordination are offered free of charge every Saturday until July via YouTube live streaming.
The home repair coordinator expert course is an advanced training program prepared together with the Seoul Urban Regeneration Support Center and the Korea Construction Management Association. It has been held from the 16th of last month to July 25th, with 3-hour lectures from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., totaling 10 sessions (30 hours). The training topics include ▲interior insulation work ▲waterproofing work ▲firefighting mechanical equipment work ▲wallpapering work ▲landscaping work, covering basic understanding of construction, defect case studies, standard work procedures, and quality control points.
The remodeling coordinator expert course is a basic course prepared with the Korea Remodeling Association. It has been held from the 16th of last month to July 11th, every Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., with 2-hour lectures totaling 15 sessions (30 hours). The training topics include ▲concept and characteristics of remodeling ▲planning and management ▲green remodeling ▲design ▲construction ▲repair and reinforcement ▲facilities (electricity), among others.
Certificates of completion are issued by SH Corporation to those who attend all sessions of these courses.
Additionally, the housing service coordinator expert course is an educational program prepared with the Korea Housing Service Society, held over 5 days from the 6th to the 10th of next month, totaling 10 sessions (30 hours). Applications for this course are open from the 29th of this month to the 3rd of next month, and certificates are also issued by SH Corporation upon full attendance.
Kim Seyong, President of SH Corporation, stated, “Taking this YouTube live streaming as an opportunity, we plan to expand non-face-to-face online education through the Urban Regeneration Life Skills School in the future.”
