[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Min Jun-young] Regarding the suspect who surrendered to the police on the 1st for installing an illegal hidden camera in the women's restroom at KBS Seoul Yeouido headquarters, Professor Lee Soo-jung of the Department of Criminal Psychology at Kyonggi University said, "He probably committed this act to achieve his personal objectives."

Professor Lee appeared on CBS Radio's 'Kim Hyun-jung's News Show' on the 3rd and said, "It seems that the significance of a public broadcasting station was not very important to the individual."

Regarding the suspect's criminal intent, Professor Lee said, "There are two possible purposes: one is that he might have joined the 'restroom hidden camera' section without much awareness of the problem, trying to attract attention."

She continued, "The other possibility is that a specific woman was the target. It might not have been just a general restroom video but a celebrity video that was needed." She added, "It is known that celebrity videos and sexual videos are bought and sold at very high prices in cyberspace, so if the motive was financial, he should be punished as severely as in the 'Nth Room' case."

She also said, "If he is currently in some financial difficulty, it would have been hard to resist this kind of temptation."

She added, "If it was possible to install the camera in one place, it could have been installed elsewhere as well. We need to consider the possibility that cameras were installed in other locations and investigate whether these were distributed online through web hard drives or chat sites."

Host PD Kim Hyun-jung asked, "Why do places like the 'Nth Room' create separate sections or folders for these smelly restrooms and enjoy them?"

Professor Lee explained, "Because many people perceive the restroom, where people undress, with a significant amount of humor, a distorted perception that this content is entertaining has been formed."

She added, "We definitely need to search for and punish those who trade these strange videos."
