Lotte Department Store and AmorePacific to Open Contactless Cosmetics Stores

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] Lotte Department Store is opening a non-face-to-face cosmetics store.

After three years of preparation with Amorepacific, Lotte Department Store will open the 'Amore Store' at the Cheongnyangni branch on the 5th. The 'Amore Store' is a new type of experiential cosmetics store created by Lotte Department Store and Amorepacific. In the approximately 165㎡ (50-pyeong) store, customers can experience over 1,400 products from seven brands in one space, including the flagship brands Sulwhasoo, Hera, Primera, and Goutal Paris, as well as the newly launched aesthetic brand Holi Ritual, inner beauty brand Vital Beauty, and beauty device brand Makeon.

The biggest feature of the 'Amore Store' is that it actively reflects the non-face-to-face consumption trend that has spread since the recent COVID-19 pandemic and the demands of the millennial generation.

It has an open-structured beauty bar called the 'Untact Zone,' where customers can freely test products in a non-face-to-face manner. The products are divided by categories such as skin concerns, color cosmetics, and new products, allowing customers to compare desired items in one place. Detailed product explanations can be viewed via QR codes without needing to ask staff.

An AR augmented reality makeup experience service is also provided, allowing customers to check if products suit them without applying them directly to their face. After taking a photo of their face on an in-store device, customers can select products on the screen, and makeup is applied virtually to their face on the display. This system enables customers to freely test various products. Given the increased concern about sharing testers with others due to COVID-19, this service will be especially beneficial for customers wishing to purchase color cosmetics. Additionally, a 'Sample Menu' has been prepared so customers can select samples instead of testers. Consumers can request and receive three samples of their desired products.

The 'Deep Counseling' service is also offered in various ways. Cosmetics experts reside in the store to recommend products suitable for customers.
