The briefing was organized to provide residents with explanations regarding the Strategic Environmental Impact Assessment (Draft) on the effects of the metropolitan area express railroad (GTX-C) construction on flora and fauna, air quality, noise, vibration, and water quality, as well as to hold a Q&A session related to the KTX extension.
About 200 people attended, including residents, local members of the National Assembly, city and district council members, officials from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (Metropolitan Express Railroad Team), and representatives from the contractors Hwashin Engineering and Taejo Engineering.
Residents who have opinions regarding environmental impacts can submit their comments to the Future City Division of the district office by the 29th or register them on the ‘Environmental Impact Assessment Information Support System’ website.
Mayor Oh Seung-rok expressed his expectations, saying, “Following the commencement of the Dongbuk Line light rail, I believe that the inconvenience in transportation, which can be called Nowon's Achilles' heel, will be resolved within the next five years through the construction of GTX-C.”
