Applications open until the 5th for 10 households with elementary school students... Online video tools used for psychological quarantine and conflict management education to overcome COVID-19
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Changwoo Lee) will operate a 'Non-face-to-face Disaster Relief Shelter Experience Camp' to overcome the COVID-19 disaster from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the 13th.
This camp will be conducted non-face-to-face at the homes of participating families due to the recent COVID-19 situation, and was prepared with the participation of various volunteer organizations such as the Dongjak-gu Volunteer Center, Seoul Volunteer Center, and the Donghaeng Volunteer Group ‘Hwaseo’.
Last year, the district operated a 1-night 2-day relief shelter evacuee situation experience camp assuming an apartment fire situation. This year, using online video tools, the camp will be operated with themes such as ▲psychological quarantine ▲value consumption ▲conflict management ▲family pledges to overcome the COVID-19 situation.
First, volunteers will deliver mission kits along with program guidance to the participating families, and families can attend the camp by accessing the designated online video chat room and open chat room.
The first session, ‘Psychological Quarantine,’ will proceed with quizzes and clay doll-making missions under the theme of ‘Overcoming the COVID-19 Crisis’ with family.
In ‘Value Consumption,’ participants will practice ‘Value Consumption in Our Neighborhood’ through meals and purchasing goods to revitalize the local economy, take certification photos, and share them with SNS hashtags and relay campaigns.
‘Conflict Management’ will conduct proper communication methods and making flowerpots to gift neighbors to overcome conflicts that may arise between family and neighbors due to prolonged time spent at home during COVID-19.
The last session is themed ‘What if COVID-19 infection becomes serious again?’ where each member’s pledge is heard, creating a time for family harmony.
Participants are 10 families residing in the area with elementary school students, and applications can be made by phone or email (djvol0019@daum.net) to the Dongjak-gu Volunteer Center by the 5th.
Choi Hwanbong, Director of the Autonomous Administration Division, said, “We prepared the nation’s first non-face-to-face disaster relief shelter experience camp to overcome the COVID-19 disaster crisis with families,” and added, “We ask for the active participation of interested residents.”
