Recruiting Tenants for Youth Startup Incubating Space (Changdong StartLab) Until June 14... Selecting 2 Teams for Shared Office with 6 Months Free Startup Space Rental... Selecting 1 Team for Workshop with 3 Months Free Startup Space Rental
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Dobong-gu (Mayor Dong-jin Lee) is recruiting tenants for the youth startup incubating space (Changdong StartLab) until the 14th to discover and support talented young people with promising startup items.
The youth startup incubating space, Changdong StartLab (77 Madeul-ro 11-gil, Dobong-gu), is located in a place previously used as the Dobong Food Bank Market. The district remodeled the Food Bank Market space, which was relocated before the end of January, into a shared office (42㎡) and workshop (27㎡), creating a pilot startup space for young entrepreneurs.
'Changdong StartLab' is a compound term of 'START (startup)' and 'LAB (laboratory),' meaning a space where young people collaborate and research to challenge themselves for future development through startups. The number of recruits is two teams. Composed of a 4-person seat and a 3-person seat, about two teams of tenants will be selected. Companies (individuals) moving in can use the startup space free of charge for six months.
The workshop recruitment is for one team. Companies (individuals) moving in can use the startup space free of charge for three months.
In particular, the district supports startup education, management consulting, and mentoring to assist young tenants' initial commercialization. Online and offline promotional marketing is also supported.
The residency period can be extended once after performance evaluation such as business promotion results.
Applicants must be youth aged 19 to 39 residing in Dobong-gu. Prospective entrepreneurs and those who have started a business within one year with unique startup items can apply, including students (on leave) and workers residing in Dobong-gu.
The application period is until June 14. Applicants can download the application form from the Dobong-gu Office website and apply by mail (Youth Policy Team, Job and Economy Division, Dobong-gu Office) or email (chaean789@dobong.go.kr). Final tenants will be selected through document screening and interviews based on submitted documents. Selected candidates will be announced on the district website at the end of June.
Meanwhile, on January 14, the district opened the first youth startup incubating space, 'Mujungryeok 1/6, Dal,' next to 'Mujungryeokjidae Dobong' (75 Madeul-ro 11-gil, Dobong-gu) on the east side of Changdong Station, to support young entrepreneurs' successful food service startups.
Mayor Dong-jin Lee of Dobong-gu said, “We have established the second startup incubating space (Changdong StartLab) following the first one (Mujungryeok 1/6, Dal) to help young people prepare for startups more easily. We hope that moving into such startup incubating spaces will serve as a stepping stone for early-stage young entrepreneurs to grow.”
