From 6 PM on the 2nd until the end of the COVID-19 Serious and Alert Status
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Province (Governor Kim Young-rok) is implementing a 'gathering restriction' measure for entertainment facilities such as clubs.
Jeonnam Province announced that from 6 p.m. on the 2nd until the 'COVID-19' severe and caution status is lifted, it will impose gathering restrictions on entertainment facilities such as clubs, entertainment bars, and karaoke bars within the province to strengthen quarantine management.
This measure will be applied to 2,260 entertainment facilities (clubs, entertainment bars, karaoke bars, colatecs, etc.) within the province.
The province recommends refraining from operating these facilities and, if operation is unavoidable, plans to ensure strict compliance with government-established quarantine rules.
The main quarantine rules for facilities include ▲ maintaining and managing visitor logs ▲ checking visitors for symptoms and restricting entry of symptomatic individuals and high-risk groups ▲ mandatory mask-wearing for all business owners and employees ▲ daily symptom checks for employees with symptomatic individuals sent home ▲ designation of a quarantine manager ▲ disinfection before and after business hours.
Additionally, facility users must strictly follow core quarantine rules such as ▲ filling out visitor logs (including name and phone number, presenting ID) ▲ cooperating with symptom checks ▲ prohibiting entry of symptomatic individuals and high-risk groups ▲ wearing masks.
In particular, to guide and promote core quarantine rules, the province will deliver notices to all businesses by the 7th and, starting from the 8th, form joint inspection teams composed of public officials, police, and consumer food hygiene inspectors (23 teams, 210 people) to conduct daily inspections on compliance with quarantine rules.
Businesses violating quarantine rules will face closure orders and legal action, and users will also be subject to prosecution. Additionally, fines of up to 3 million won will be imposed.
An Byeong-ok, Director of the Jeonnam Provincial Health and Welfare Bureau, said, "Entertainment facilities have a high risk of COVID-19 cluster infections, so we ask for voluntary suspension of operations as much as possible," and added, "We also ask residents to actively participate in COVID-19 quarantine measures."
Meanwhile, the government plans to introduce an electronic entry log system (visitor QR code) for high-risk facilities to all businesses after a pilot phase ending on the 9th, starting from the 10th.
