USFK 19th Support Command Commander Brig. Gen. Simmerly Launches 'Stay Strong' Campaign


[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Dongwook Park] The United States Forces Korea 19th Support Command, located at Camp Walker in Daegu, announced on the 2nd that Brigadier General Mark T. Simerly, the commander, participated in the 'Stay Strong' campaign, which delivers a message to overcome the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) crisis.


On this day, Brigadier General Simerly emphasized the strong alliance between the two countries and the importance of cooperation to protect the local community from the virus through the 'Stay Strong' logo, which features the national flags of both Korea and the United States on the sleeves of both hands.


The 'Stay Strong Campaign' features an image of two hands clasped in prayer and a logo of washing hands with soap bubbles, with the phrase 'Stay Strong' written to convey the meaning of overcoming the COVID-19 situation by adhering to personal hygiene.


Commander Simerly pledged, "The 19th Support Command will continuously stand with the Korean people in the Stay Strong campaign and promises never to back down in this fight."


Commander Simerly nominated Daegu Superintendent of Education Eunhee Kang, Chief of Staff of the 2nd Operations Command Major General Sanggyun Shin, and Daegu Police Chief Minheon Song as the next participants in the relay campaign.
