Yangcheon-gu Reports 5 New COVID-19 Cases

The 30th to 33rd confirmed cases are related to the 29th confirmed case (associated with a church in Incheon), and the 34th confirmed case is a male in his 30s, Mr. E, residing in Mok1-dong, linked to the KB Life Insurance call center cluster.

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] On the 2nd, Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Kim Su-young) reported 5 new confirmed cases (numbers 30 to 34) of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).

The newly confirmed cases numbered 30 to 33 are ▲Person A (No. 30, resident of Sinjeong 7-dong, female in her 60s) ▲Person B (No. 31, resident of Sinwol 3-dong, male in his 60s) ▲Person C (No. 32, resident of Sinwol 3-dong, female in her 60s) ▲Person D (No. 33, resident of Sinwol 3-dong, male in his 60s). They were found to be related to the 29th confirmed case, who tested positive on the 1st (a female in her 50s residing in Sinwol 3-dong, linked to a church in Incheon).

The 30th confirmed case was tested at the Yangcheon-gu Public Health Center screening clinic on the 1st and received a positive result that afternoon. The 31st to 33rd confirmed cases were also tested at the same screening clinic on the 1st and received their final positive results on the morning of the 2nd.

Additionally, Person B among the confirmed cases is the spouse of the 29th confirmed case.

The 34th confirmed case, Person E (resident of Mok 1-dong, male in his 30s), is linked to the KB Life Call Center in Jung-gu. While under self-quarantine, he developed symptoms such as fever and muscle pain on May 30th. He was tested at the Yangcheon-gu Public Health Center screening clinic on the 1st and received his final positive result on the morning of the 2nd.

The district has requested hospital beds at a nationally designated hospital to transfer the additional confirmed cases. After transfer, disinfection will be conducted immediately and completed around the residential areas of the confirmed cases.

The district plans to promptly and accurately disclose the movement paths of the confirmed cases through the Yangcheon-gu website and social media (blog, Instagram) as soon as they are confirmed.

With this, the cumulative number of COVID-19 confirmed cases in Yangcheon-gu has reached 34.

Kim Su-young, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, stated, “COVID-19 infections can occur unexpectedly anywhere at any time, so it is important to maintain a certain distance between people and wear masks properly in multi-use facilities.” He added, “Please make every effort to strictly follow quarantine rules for the safety of yourself and our community.”
