[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyun] Jindo-gun, Jeollanam-do recently announced on the 2nd that it has opened a forest bathing site by developing a 30-hectare cypress forest in Sacheon-ri, Uisin-myeon.

This project, which involved a national budget of 1.5 billion KRW, created a barrier-free forest trail about 2 km long that allows not only general pedestrians but also the elderly, disabled, and children to enjoy the forest.

In addition, linked with the existing children's forest, play facilities such as tree houses, rock climbing, sand experience areas, and net bridges were added, transforming the space into an area where children can play freely in nature.

Various wildflowers such as Coreopsis, Peony, and Gaillardia were planted around the cypress forest, enhancing the healing effect through phytoncides as well as providing visual enjoyment.

A Jindo-gun Environment and Forestry Department official said, “We will develop the area around Unlim Sambyeolcho Park, along with the nearby auto camping site and water play area, into a nature-friendly healing space. We will do our best to establish it as a landmark for natural recreation in Jindo-gun and provide visitors with a high-quality resting place.”
