[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeon Seong] Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim Junsung) announced on the 2nd that it will recruit participants for the ‘Youth Employment Activity Support Project’ to alleviate the economic burden of unemployed youth by providing job-seeking activity expenses from the 2nd to the 17th.
This project supports unemployed youth with expenses incurred during job-seeking activities such as education fees, book purchase fees, interview fees, and transportation costs by providing up to 3 million KRW over 6 months at 500,000 KRW per month.
The county plans to contribute to revitalizing the local economy, which has been stagnant due to COVID-19, by paying part of the support funds through the Yeonggwang Sarang Card.
The eligibility criteria are unemployed youth aged between 18 and 45 residing in the county, who have graduated or dropped out of their final education at least 2 years ago, and whose income is below 150% of the median income.
However, recipients of livelihood benefits, unemployment benefits, participants in government or Jeollanam-do similar projects such as the Employment Success Package are excluded from eligibility.
A county official said, “We plan to reduce the burden of job preparation costs for youth to enable their swift entry into society,” adding, “We will continue to implement various policies to establish a foundation for youth independence and enhance vitality.”
