Busan to Extend 'Club Closure' for One More Week

Busan City Extends Assembly Ban Administrative Order Until Noon on the 9th

Busan to Extend 'Club Closure' for One More Week Busan City Hall building. The administrative order banning gatherings in Busan has been extended for one more week.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The 'Gathering Ban Administrative Order' imposed by Busan City has been extended for another week.

The city originally planned to enforce it until the 2nd, but due to sporadic group infections occurring in other regions, it announced on the 2nd that the order will be extended until 12 noon on the 9th.

In particular, as the travel and tourism season begins with beaches opening and increased outdoor activities, the city decided to extend the order in anticipation of an increase in users of entertainment facilities in Busan, taking advantage of the somewhat relaxed atmosphere of social distancing in daily life.

Seventy-one club-type entertainment facilities in Busan, including 14 clubs, 15 emotional pubs, and 42 colatecs, will be subject to the gathering ban administrative order until the 9th.

For the next week, the city will conduct joint inspections with the National Police Agency, district and county offices, and consumer monitors to enforce compliance with the administrative order.

Starting from the 10th, with the full implementation of the 'Electronic Entry Log' for visitors to high-risk facilities such as entertainment pubs, facilities that do not comply with core quarantine rules will be immediately reported under the Infectious Disease Control and Prevention Act. In case of confirmed cases, measures such as claiming compensation for all related quarantine costs including investigation, testing, and treatment from business operators and facility users will be taken.

A city official said, "As the weather warms up, we ask citizens to actively participate in social distancing in daily life, which could easily become lax," and added, "We especially hope that business owners, despite the many difficulties caused by this administrative measure, will actively cooperate."
