[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Min Jun-young] Broadcaster Kim Hye-young confessed to battling glomerulonephritis pyelonephritis.
On the 1st, Kim Hye-young appeared on TV Chosun's documentary program 'Life Documentary My Way' to share her recent condition.
In the broadcast, Kim Hye-young said, "One morning in 1997, I went to the bathroom and noticed my urine was reddish, so I went to the hospital and was diagnosed with glomerulonephritis pyelonephritis," adding, "There was a hole in my kidney and other parts of the renal system."
She continued, "Because of that hole, all nutrients and proteins leaked out," and said, "All I could do was go to the bathroom to relieve myself and eat a little to survive. The rest of the time, I just lay in bed."
She added, "I couldn't even move my fingers. They said it would only get worse, not better. This is the best it can be now," and confessed, "When I was diagnosed with glomerulonephritis pyelonephritis, it felt like my whole world was collapsing."
Furthermore, she said, "I couldn't cry in front of my husband or children, but I would go out to the veranda while sleeping and cover my mouth to cry. I couldn't do anything. They said there was no medicine," and added, "I told them not to tell my parents about the illness, but somehow my mother found out. She cried bitterly and struggled. Later, when she saw me healthy again, my parents were happy."
