The Three Major Telecoms Begin Lottery for Easy-to-Remember 'Gold Numbers' Like 1234 and 7777

SK Telecom, KT, and LG Uplus, the three major mobile carriers, announced on the 2nd that they will start accepting applications for Gold Numbers from today until mid-month. Each of the three companies allows applicants to request up to three desired numbers per person.

SK Telecom is accepting Gold Number applications from 10 a.m. today until the 11th through SK Telecom’s official certified dealerships and the T World website. Gold Numbers come in nine types, including patterns like AAAA, 000A, A000, AA00, 00AA, ABAB, ABCD, or numbers with special meanings such as 1004. SK Telecom plans to select winners on the 22nd and notify them individually via text message. Winners can visit dealerships between the 26th and July 9th to activate their new numbers.

KT is also accepting Gold Number applications until the 22nd. From the 2nd to the 22nd, applicants can easily apply by visiting a nearby KT dealership or through the KT.com website or the 'My KT' app. The results of the Gold Number lottery can be checked from the 25th on KT.com and the My KT app. KT Gold Number winners must visit a nearby KT dealership by July 15th to use their winning Gold Numbers through new activation or number change.

LG Uplus is accepting applications for the lottery from the 2nd to the 15th. Applicants can participate by visiting offline stores or by filling out an application form following the instructions under the Customer Support menu on the LG Uplus website: ‘Usage Guide - Product Subscription Guide - Area Code Management - Preferred Number Application and Winner Confirmation.’ The winners will be announced on the 19th. Numbers will be distributed to winners from the 22nd until July 12th.
