[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo In-ho] The Ponyjeong Foundation selected Bang Si-hyuk, chairman of Big Hit Entertainment and producer of BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan), as the recipient of the Ponyjeong Innovation Award on the 2nd.
Bang, a composer and music producer, was born in 1972 and graduated from the Department of Aesthetics at Seoul National University. He currently serves as the chairman of the board and CEO of Big Hit.
The Ponyjeong Innovation Award was established in 2006, named after "Ponyjeong," the nickname of the late Chung Se-young, founder of Hyundai Motor Company and honorary chairman of Hyundai Development Company. The award is given to individuals or organizations that have contributed to bringing positive change to society through innovative thinking.
