[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] Public officials in Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam Province, have accused the head of the health center of abuse of power and demanded severe disciplinary action.
The Hapcheon-gun branch of the Gyeongnam Headquarters of the National Public Officials Union held a press conference in front of Hapcheon-gun Office on the 1st, urging the suspension of the health center director.
They stated, "The health center director entrusted waterproofing and painting work to his younger brother and gave estimates from a specific company, causing the purchase of medicines at prices higher than procurement costs, committing abuse of power and illegal acts. He also made personal attacks against employees in public and harassed them by mentioning personnel transfers without hesitation."
They continued, "The health center director's spouse also harassed employees with excessive information disclosure requests and threatened them with informal speech and profanity. They did not hesitate to use abusive language that caused public officials to feel insulted and sexually humiliated."
The public officials union urged the county to impose severe disciplinary measures on the health center director, citing an increase in employees suffering mental and physical damage due to the abuse of power.
The health center director responded, "The allegations raised by the public officials union are completely untrue, and we will take legal action."
