The Yeongdeungpo Police Station in Seoul stated on the 1st, "In the early hours today, suspect A voluntarily appeared and underwent an initial investigation on charges of violating the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Crimes," adding, "We are conducting an investigation including digital forensics on the camera and related devices to verify the facts."
After the investigation, suspect A was released. The police plan to decide on suspect A's custody once the results of the forensic investigation and other inquiries are completed.
The police received a report on the afternoon of the 29th of last month about an illegal filming device in the women's restroom and have been tracking the suspect by analyzing closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage installed at the building entrance. Suspect A is accused of installing an illegal filming device shaped like a portable power bank in the restroom.
The police explained that they cannot disclose personal information such as whether the suspect is a KBS employee.
