GOT7's Mark Donates $7,000 to the George Floyd Case in the U.S.

[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Seul-gi] Mark (27), a member of the idol group GOT7, mourned the incident in the United States where a white police officer excessively restrained an unarmed Black man, leading to his death.

On the 31st of last month (Korean time), Mark posted on his official social network service (SNS) with the message "Stay strong, stay safe" along with a photo.

The released photo showed a donation to the George Floyd Official Memorial Fund. According to the photo, Mark donated about $7,000 (approximately 8.59 million KRW) as a memorial fund.

Earlier, in Minnesota, USA, on the 25th of last month (local time), a white police officer pressed his knee on the neck of a Black man named George Floyd, causing his death.

In particular, a video showing Floyd pleading "I can't breathe" was released on SNS, sparking protests across the United States against the incident.

Meanwhile, Minnesota declared a state of emergency on the 29th of last month (local time) and deployed about 500 National Guard troops to Minneapolis and Saint Paul.
