According to the 'Emergency Disaster Relief Fund Application and Payment Status' announced by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety on the 1st, Jeonbuk received about 489.5 billion won distributed to 778,778 households.
By payment method, 426,422 households applied for and received the fund via credit/debit card charging method, accounting for 54.8% of all applicant households.
Cash was paid to 163,931 households (21%), prepaid cards to 161,797 households (20.7%), and local love and Onnuri gift certificates to 26,628 households (3.41%), respectively.
Households that have not yet received the emergency disaster relief fund can choose one method among credit/debit card charging, prepaid card, or local love gift certificates to receive the support.
Applications for credit/debit card charging can be made on each card company's website and at bank counters affiliated with the card companies until the 5th of this month.
Credit/debit cards, prepaid cards, and mobile local love gift certificates must be used within about three months until August 31. If not fully used by then, the remaining balance will be reclaimed by the government.
However, paper local love gift certificates are legally valid for use up to five years.
The government recommends usage by August 31, but unless related regulations are amended, they can still be used after this period.
An official from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety stated, “However, the emergency disaster relief fund cannot be used at department stores, large supermarkets, online shopping malls, entertainment establishments, and similar places.”
